Our latest Social Impact Report highlights the behind-the-scenes work at the historic Mecklenburg Gardens…

…where cleanout, deconstruction, and demolition were approached with respect for Cincinnati history.

Rather than a traditional demolition, this project showed how thoughtful deconstruction can protect what matters, reduce waste, and create real community impact. Along the way, we learned valuable lessons about balancing preservation with progress--and how early collaboration makes all the difference.

Project impact highlights:

👷🏿‍♂️ 10 individuals trained in construction skills

♻️ 5,000+ pounds of materials saved from the landfill

🛋️ 44 salvageable items recovered for reuse

💰 $3,210 in tax benefits generated through salvage donation

We’re especially grateful to Kaiker Development + Construction, the lead contractor on this project, for embracing a collaborative approach and recognizing the value of preservation-minded deconstruction.
